One year on…

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and much merriment!

For us, like most people, Christmas was a time to switch off, take a step back and spend quality time with family.

We had a great Christmas in our camper van, Polly.  We drove up North on Christmas Eve to visit with my family where we spent the time between Christmas Eve and Boxing Day generally eating too much, drinking too much, playing games, (which got quite raucous at times) and laughing a lot, then on Boxing Day evening we drove down South to do much of the same with Jon’s family.  We are here now to see in the New Year in Cornwall. Tis the season…

December.  I had so much planned for this month.  It was the month I was going to ‘get on top of things’.  Get ahead with my blog that is.  I’d organised to ‘tick off’ my quite large blogging ‘To Do’ list, but then I realised Christmas is coming and takes over as priority, Santa’s on his way.  Someone told me it’s only a few weeks to go before those big black boots come down the chimney!  So, loving Christmas as I do and having not realised how near it was, a new ‘To Do’ list was written, a Christmas one. Over 50 and ‘In Love’ again

We’ve all heard of dating agencies right?  But did you know about the over 50’s dating scene? Okay, okay I can hear you all shouting, yes of course we do”, well where the hell have I been?  I didn’t know there was such a thing as an ‘over 50’s dating agency’, but there is, senior dating is a thing! When sad news triggers good memories

When I heard the sad news that David Cassidy had passed away, I’d just made a cuppa and was sitting down to work on a blog post I was in the middle of writing, but instead I just sat and contemplated for a while.  Hearing this news sparked a few memories for me. We did it! We moved onto the boat!

It took a while, but we finally moved on board our boat – Head in the Clouds. Our new home!

Well, after months of planning and after selling my business and our house, we finally made the move out of our 3 bedroom house into our broad beam, narrow canal barge and are in the process of making it home.  We’ve been in a few weeks now and I can safely say we are both knackered. Living the Dream

There comes a time when you turn around and your children choose not to hold your hand when crossing the road anymore, they are little more independent every day, they begin to tackle their own problems, you find out they had a cold and you didn’t even know about it, but they got healthy again without you fussing around them with hot honey and lemon drinks, hot water bottles & without those ‘mummy’ cuddles.   You turn around and they’ve grown up. My birthday visit to St Michael’s Mount

A visit to the historic town of Marazion, Cornwall

We were Cornwall bound again during the last week in August and what a fabulous week it was weather wise.  It was my birthday whilst down there so we decided to take Polly the camper van on a little drive to see where the sunny roads would take us. A world without Trees?

Can you imagine a world without trees?  Isn’t that a terrible thought? I was thinking this while I was on one of my many walks last week. Continue reading “A world without Trees?”
