#SundayStills – A Burst of Yellow

Terri Webster Schrandt’s #SundayStills Photography Challenge

This weeks theme is…

Yellow Autumn Or Leaves

This is such a beautiful theme for me personally, as leaves are from one of my most favourite and loved things in the world – Trees

It’s wonderful how in autumn, when leaves are beginning to fall and wither away, how nature wants to give them one last burst of life and colour

From deep green to bright yellow, turning to brown then falling…

Autumn, along with rain and dull skies, usually gives us intermittent bursts of blue skies too, just to give that extra wow factor as you look up…

…and when the sun hits that yellow, along comes the glory of gold!

Walking in the woods has it’s magical moments anytime of the year, but with the crisp fresh air, the phenomenal colours and the rustle of leaves under your feet, autumn seems to have a magic all of its own, don’t you think?

Something I learnt recently about fallen leaves is, don’t rush to rake them up off your garden, because butterflies start their lives as larvae within the fallen leaves, along with other microbes which are needed in our world of nature.  If you really need to rake them up, then add them to your soil in your borders for natural mulch or put them in a pile in a corner somewhere, because they may be full of our beloved and well needed pollinators, so let’s look after them.  Fallen leaves are also useful to other wildlife beauty’s too  –  Here’s the link to learn more on this.

    1. Hi thank you, I too love that shot 🙂 Oh that’s good, putting on your flower beds is good, it will also be great for your soil! Thanks for visiting!

    1. Thank you Terri, It’s certainly a colourful season isn’t it, not quite so nice with all the grey skies and rain we’ve been experiencing here in the UK recently, but every now and again the sun comes out and a hint of blue sky appears 🙂

  1. Great photos Sam. The colours in Autumn are amazing aren’t they? I’m always taking photos of beautiful browns and yellows on our walks but you do need blue skies to really set them off and we’re not getting a lot more than constant rain this month.

    1. Thank you! Yes I agree the scenery in Autumn is fantastic, but blue sky is needed to get those particular beautiful shots. We had a lovely, crisp, sunny day today which was a refreshing change! 🙂

    1. Thank you Donna, there is nothing like walking amongst nature is there? The smells, the sounds, the scenery, the magic – indeed 🙂
